Silverchair discografia

Silverchair é uma banda australiana de rock alternativo formada em 1992 por Daniel Johns, Chris Joannou e Ben Gillies.

O Silverchair foi formado por estudantes de Newcastle, Austrália em 1992. Com quatro integrantes, a banda, que já se chamou Short Elvis e Innocent Criminals, inicialmente, apenas tocava rap sem qualquer instrumento. Com o tempo, a banda foi evoluindo e começando a tocar covers de bandas como Midnight Oil, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin e Black Sabbath.

Mais tarde, Tobin Finnane, o segundo guitarrista da banda, mudou-se para Inglaterra. Ficaram apenas os três integrantes restantes, Daniel Johns (vocal e guitarra), Ben Gillies (bateria) e Chris Joannou (baixo), que continuaram a tocar e compor. Quando participaram de um concurso nacional de demos chamado "Pick Me", a sua música "Tomorrow", que depois sairia no álbum Frogstomp, venceu e os garantiu a gravação de um videoclipe e de um álbum.

Com o sucesso 'Tomorrow', a banda torna-se famosa em toda a Austrália, e posteriormente, nos Estados Unidos. Após o fim da turnê do álbum Diorama, a banda passou por um hiato, seus integrantes mantiveram projetos paralelos, como a banda The Dissociatives formada pelo guitarrista Daniel Johns e o tecladista australiano Paul Mac, e o Tambalane, formado pelo baterista Ben Gillies e o vocalista Wesley Carr.

Contudo, a banda voltou a trabalhar em um novo álbum desde o Natal de 2005 e desde então, tem feito inúmeros shows pela Austrália, Europa e América do Norte. Seu novo álbum, entitutlado "Young Modern", já tem 3 hits de sucesso e três vídeo-clipes (Straight Lines, Reflections of a Sound e If you keep loosing sleep).
